Notice – Depositing snow onto or across certain highways prohibited

The Clarendon Select Board would like to remind the public that the Vermont Statues state:

1126a. Depositing snow onto or across certain highways prohibited
(a) No person, other than an employee in the performance of his or her official duties or other persons authorized by the Agency of Transportation (in the case of State highways) or selectboard (in the case of town highways), shall plow or otherwise deposit snow onto traveled way, shoulder, or sidewalk of a State highway or a class 1, 2, or 3 town highway.
(b) Nothing in this section should be construed to be in derogation of any municipal ordinance regulating the deposit if snow within the limits of town highways.

*Please be mindful when plowing driveways, to not leave any snow on town roads.*

Notice – Winter Sand

Public access to the municipal sand supply by the Town Garage is no longer permitted, due to safety reasons.  A public sand pile has been established on the north side of the Town Hall, next to the cemetery.  The Board of Selectmen reminds all citizens that while small buckets of sand may be taken for personal use, under no circumstances are truck beds or commercial sanders to be filled from the public supply.
