Harry Withington
Harry Withington, of 36 Scenic View Drive, met with the board and road crew in regards to ditch work and drainage that had been done years ago under the previous road commissioners’ supervision. He had concerns as the trees along the edge of the ditch work have now either died, or are close to doing so, as well as the depth and width of the ditching being excessive.
After discussion with the present selectmen, road crew, and Mr. Withington the following has been decided:
-Work will not be completed until spring
-Install a new 18”x40’ culvert at Mr. Withington’s driveway
-Raise the new driveway culvert as the current culvert sits too low for water to flow to the cross culvert north of Mr. Withington’s driveway
-Shim the roadside ditch from the new height of culvert to the corner of North Shrewsbury Road
-Use fill from work being done on Cold River Road to shim, and fill in areas needed
-Mr. Withington agreed to have fill delivered from now until job is complete on his property and understands this will be spring of 2025
-Road commissioner Ruane to contact a tree removal service to remove dead trees that were a result of poor ditch work
