Meeting Minutes Recreation Committee
August 6th, 11:30 AM
7B Rec Field

1. Move gate Up to the front – YES

2. Events 2026 – Ideas – Easter Egg Hunt – Talk to Clarendon PTO to see if
they want to collaborate with us. 2026 event to celebrate 250 anniversary,
Fall event, Memorial Day?
3. Can we put in a Pond – discussion followed.
4. Dog signs – Ashley Ordered
5. Chat and Chew make a flyer and Ashley will post on Town facebook page
6. Type up Rules for people who donate – minimum donation in order to
have a banner at the field.
7. To do list –
– Dig 2 more holes for fence, I’m working with my neighbor on the rest he’s
very busy may be closer to fall!
– Streamline banners for fence from companies who have donated
– do we want to do plaques for people?
– We need split rail fencing for upfront donated
– Reach out for donations
– Chain up at entry to park – Gate needs to be moved
– No smoking sign up
– Board on concession where wasps are getting in

4. Events for 2025-2026 –
– Veterans – November 2025 – MRU band
– Easter Egg Hunt – April 2026
– 4th of July Event – July 2026 – Talk to Airport about Fireworks, Movie, Fast
Bed Hay Trucks,
– Art in the Park – October 2026
– Veterans day – November 2026
5. Pond –
– Ice Skate Rink concessions open in winter
– Benches – Bird viewing
– Path to Pond
– We are going to seek out an engineer to look into how to drain the fields,
pond possibility.
– Need safety signs
6. Budget – We will discuss at the next meeting as Ashley has talked about
taking over the budget and she’s not here.
8. Chain for Entry to Park – Sheriff asked that park be locked. We need to
get the chain up and I will ask if they can take it up and down dusk/dawn.
