Draft Clarendon Planning Commission Meeting Minutes
Clarendon Town Hall, 5-5-2025
NOTE: Hearing for proposed draft zoning bylaws was not held due to lack of quorum of Planning Commission members. An informal discussion took place with members of the public asking questions and Chair McKenna and other members present responding. Several suggestions for changes were made and noted by Chair McKenna.
Suggestions included:
•
Review definition of Rural/Commercial district to include possible language about prohibiting hazardous waste in any light industry or manufacturing in that zone.
•
Review prohibition on manufacturing in section 202.
•
Request to remove manufacturing as a conditional use in the Residential/Commercial zone.
•
Discussion of whether or not the area of town around Town Hall was a Village Center. Mike Klopchin indicated that he thought the area was identified as a “Village Center” on an historical map found at some point in the recent past. John M. stated that there is a difference between a commonly accepted village center and the official Village Center Designation as approved by the State of Vermont through a specific process like the one to designate the area around the old Clarendon Springs hotel.
